CATHERINE GROPPER
playwright, artist, activist, producer, educator

Catherine Gropper (Columbia University, TC, M.A., Phil. 1978)is an internationally exhibited painter and sculptor . She is an internationally produced playwright . Gropper's play, Embers won a four star review in The Scotsman, the leading newspaper of Scotland. Embers premiered at the St. Peter's Church at Citicorp where there is a Nevelson alter piece. Salome Jens starred in this first production. 

Embers was produced in an extended run at The Chelsea Playhouse in 2002. It is being revived and in stages for a 2022-2023 production. 
 
The playwright is currently working on a contemporary and political and historical play, titled, THE MEETING (The Interpreter) for an international production, in 2022.

The playwright is also working on two comedies . One about the Hamptons and one about helicopter families. In addition Catherine is writing fiction short stories and poetry. She lives in New York City.
